Hasbro for Halloween

Halloween is on a Friday this year, which means late night shenanigans all around. With no school or work the next day, the kids can eat candy, stay up late, and celebrate Halloween in style.

After an evening of trick or treating, nothing caps off a great night like a lightsaber duel with your dad. (Well, Luke might not agree…) We love our Hasbro Ultimate FX lightsabers with motion sensor controlled sound and light effects. They really light up and hum and zoom like real lightsabers. And when they smash together, they clash and crackle, just like in the movies!

Yes, we really are that family out having lightsaber battles in the middle of the street after dark. I think the neighbours would join us if they could!

Enough Candy Already!

One thing I do struggle with though, is the sheer amount of candy that my kids bring home with them at Halloween. They get bags full of candy from school, parties, and the neighbours, and that’s all before even going trick or treating. I’m not going to deny them their annual candy binge, but this year I also wanted some non-candy alternatives to the usual Halloween sugar overload on hand.

Hasbro has these My Little Pony Surprise Mini Figures, each blind bag containing one of twenty-four different miniature My Little Pony figures and a trading card. The fact that my kids still have a huge bag of last year’s Halloween candy at the back of one of my kitchen cupboards means that they’ll be getting these little figurines instead of candy from us.

Play-Doh is always a kid-pleaser, and this year Hasbro has a Play-Doh Halloween Bag containing 15 miniature cans perfect for handing out at the door or at the kids’ classroom Halloween party instead of yet more candy.
