My BFF Kristy usually makes the cakes in our family. Ever since Tee’s second birthday, she’s slaved over cake pans, fondant, and gumpaste for literally days to make some amazing works of art for us. This year, we had discussed a Frozen-themed cake (no surprise there!), but three days before the big day she had a family emergency and had to cancel. (Sending you tons of love, Kris. Call whenever you need me!)
Frankly, I doubted I’d be able to find anybody in time to make a cake for us, but I reached out anyway to Paula at Paula’s Custom Cakes in Langley, BC, for a birthday miracle. She was so friendly and kind, and she assured me she could make us the Frozen cake that Tee had been dreaming of. And here it is.

This talented mama of three started out making cakes for her own kids’ birthdays but soon realized how much she enjoyed making them. So with the support of her friends and family, she started her own home-based custom cake business in Brookswood (Langley, BC) four years ago. I’m so glad she did, because then she was able to create for us this cake for 20 kids and parents. I love the pretty airbrushed colours she used on the cake and the luster dusted snowflakes. We picked up a set of Frozen figures for the top, and she anchored them to the cake and boxed it up for us in plenty of time for our party.
This talented lady is entirely self-taught. She’s picked up some crazy skills from watching YouTube videos and how-to tutorials from other cake designers. Almost everything is made from scratch from top quality ingredients, and I can attest to just how good the chocolate cake and cookies ‘n cream icing she made for us was. Let’s be honest, kids will eat pretty much anything if it’s got icing on it, but several of the other parents there commented on how moist and delicious the cake was, so that tells you it really was yummy!
Paula makes gorgeous cakes for birthdays, weddings, holidays, baby showers, and any event you might need a fabulous custom cake for. We loved the Frozen birthday cake she made for us, and I can totally recommend Paula. Check out some of the awesome cakes she’s made for other customers!

That cake is beyond gorgeous. I’d have a hard time eating it!! And I seriously can’t get over the beer bucket cake. So awesome. That lady has talent.
Awesome cake! So great to see a local cake decorator with so much skill! I used to decorate cakes as well so I know the time and effort put in. Love the air brushing on this one! I’m sure your daughter and all her partygoers were thrilled!

Omg these are amazing cakes. I love making and decorating cakes but do not think I will ever get to this level. But one can dream. Right?
